americangirl100?
americangirl100 is a fanworks challenge community for fanfiction, fanart, fanvids, podfic, or any other transformative work about the American Girl franchise of historical dolls and books. Each of the main six American Girls has a dedicated table of 100 prompts meant to inspire fanwork creations. The overall goal is to fill a complete table, but feel free to use as many or as few prompts as inspire you as you create fun things out of love for American Girl.
FAQ: Why only Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, and Molly?
While we are starting the community with prompt tables for the original six dolls from the Pleasant Company era of the brand, we're happy to create prompt tables for later-created Historical Line or BeForever series, the History Mysteries ("Mysteries Through History"), or Girls of Many Lands. Please comment if you are interested in prompts for the other American Girls and let me know which/whom!
FAQ: Why are the Girls of the Year and/or Wellie Wishers not options for receiving tables?
Unsatisfying answer, but it's simply because as a moderator/prompt table creator, I don't personally know enough about them and I'm not particularly interested in them/their contemporary era stories. If there is interest in the GOTY, I can make a more generalized prompt table for use with any GOTY or mix of GOTYs, though, so comment if that is what you are most interested in seeing.

Get Started
- Choose one of the Prompt Tables.
- Copy and paste your table into an intro post so you can introduce yourself to the comm and so you have a permanent point-of-reference to your table within the community. You can use the format below:
- Your intro post should also include your copied and pasted prompt table. Please put the table (and any other particularly long/bulky information) under a DREAMWIDTH CUT.
- Now you're ready to start creating! Feel free to also create a post on your own blog with your chosen table.
The Rules
- Content can be hosted anywhere, but you need to post your header (see below) here and update your table for it to count to your final tally. Feel free to crosspost anywhere else you like and link to it from here. So yes: you can post your fics on AO3 or your art on Tumblr or Instagram or wherever, but the header needs to be posted here with a link to the work.
- Your header should be outside a cut, but all fic, regardless of length, under a DREAMWIDTH CUT.
- Please format your header as shown:
- Please edit your chosen prompt table (which you copied and pasted into your intro post) with links to each new piece of work.
- Each prompt needs to be filled by at least 100 words (a drabble) on its own. If your work combines multiple prompts, that number of prompts x100 words = your required wordcount. If you want to use five prompts in one work, that work's minimum wordcount is 500 words, etc. For podfic and fanvids, each prompt must be filled by at least 1 minute of audio/video. For visual art, each prompt must be at least a finished (whatever that means to you!) piece of lineart, a 9-square aesthetic graphic, or the equivalent.
- The prompts may be completed in any order.
- You can use your prompts in conjunction with other challenges or exchanges, provided the other challenge allows it. (For example, Femslash February or Yuletide.)
- Please only post new fic to the community that was written for this challenge or in conjunction with this challenge. Even if you claim a table and realise you can apply a fic you wrote two years ago... Sorry, but we ask that you write a new one!
